ZONTAL Inc. is currently seeking a Director of Software Engineering with extensive experience and proven skills in leading software development teams. This role is integral to our Life Science Analytics division. The successful candidate will demonstrate more than 6 years of experience in supervising software engineering teams, developing strategic engineering plans, and executing them effectively.

Location:

Provo, Utah USA

Responsibilities:

• Lead and provide technical guidance to software development teams based in Provo, Utah.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to develop and enhance web-based applications, focusing on user experience and product quality.
• Coordinate with Scrum Teams, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners to drive product development using the Scrum methodology.
• Establish and uphold technical standards and processes, ensuring the implementation of best engineering practices.
• Mentor team members, promoting professional growth and skill development.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in software engineering.
• Implement strategies for cost efficiency improvement.
• Report on progress and challenges to senior management.
• Maintain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the software engineering sector.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Advanced problem-solving and organizational skills.
• An action-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving results.
• Proficient in Python and experienced with web frameworks like Flask or Django.
• Skilled in using React.js and other modern JavaScript libraries.
• Knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for employment visa sponsorship, presently or in the future.
• Preferably, experience in the life science or pharmaceutical industry.

This is a full-time, direct hire position based on a hybrid work model in Provo, Utah.
